Asia leads the surfactant market in 2010

In 2010, Asia led the surfactant market

it was learned from the 11th International surfactant and detergent conference held in Shanghai that with the continuous improvement of economic development and personal consumption capacity, Asia has become the largest consumption market of surfactants in the world and will become the global surfactant investment and new product research and development center. Joel Houston, head of CaHA consulting in the United States, said that the global surfactant market has reached 12.7 million tons/year. After rapid growth in recent years, Asia has surpassed Europe and the United States to become the world's largest surfactant market, accounting for 32% of the global market. Compared with the relatively saturated European and American markets, Asia still has huge market potential and will continue to maintain rapid growth. Houston believes that the rapid and steady economic growth in Asia, especially the growth of personal consumption, has boosted the demand for surfactants. According to Chinese phenolic resin experts, China and India are the largest consumer markets of surfactants in Asia. In 2009, the total output of washing products in China was 7.812 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 9.87%. Among them, the output of synthetic detergent was 6.9287 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 9.31%. India's daily chemical products market is also growing rapidly at an average annual rate of 20%. In the past 10 years, the growth rate of detergent production and profits in Europe has been slowing down, and major multinational enterprises have turned their attention to Asia. With the production of linear alkylbenzene (Lab) and other production units, Asia has become a centralized region for the production of surfactant intermediates, which will continue to be the largest investment market for surfactants in the world until at least May. New environmental friendly and low-carbon products suitable for low-temperature washing, especially those modified by branched chain functional groups, will have a broad market space. With the expansion of technological innovation and industrial scale, and the reduction of costs, new products will occupy an important position in the future market. New surfactant intermediates will become a hot investment in Asia, which will guide material suppliers to constantly improve their basic R & D strength and innovation capabilities. It can also be used in the production of injection molding products, especially in the middle 3, infant supplies East and Southeast Asia. Due to the rich raw material resources of surfactants, it will become a region with high investment growth
